In a confused state Mohr walk into
the house Franz Gruber, an elementary school teacher who became organist and
choir leader in the church. He showed lyrics written two years ago to Gruber.
Direct Gruber composed the melody and handed it to Mohr. Mohr is satisfied and
the two began practicing. Right on the night of the vigil of Christmas,
December 24, 1818. Mohr sang tenor voice while accompanying the guitar, while
Gruber sang bass. The singing both directly welcomed people.

been destroyed by flooding and because the city center has been moved to a
safer hill. A new church was built in the new town center.
