John Apostle

John (Greek Ιωάννης - Ioannes; "God is good / free-wheeling"), is one of the twelve apostles of Jesus Christ. He was the son of Zebedee. His mother is believed to be named Salome. John is the brother of James apostle which also includes the twelve apostles. In the Gospel, John and James called Boanerges, which means "sons of thunder". Tradition believe he is the author of several books in the Bible: The Gospel of John, three letters (Letter 1 John, 2 John Letter, Letter 3 John) and the Book of Revelation.

But eventually he was banished to the island of Patmos dah exiled to hard labor in the coal mines. By the time he was there, he received the revelation that he could write the book of Revelation. Then he was released and eventually returned to the bishop of Edessa (now in the region of Turkey). He was the only apostle who reach old age and died peacefully.
St. John the Evangelist or John the Evangelist (died circa 110; Hebrew: יוחנן "God is Love", Standard Hebrew Johanan, Hebrew Tiberias: Yohanan), or "Beloved", according to the tradition of the Church is the name used to refer to the author of the Gospel John and the First Epistle of John. Church tradition identifies himself as an apostle John, one of the twelve disciples of Jesus Christ first. The opinion that he is also the author of the Second and Third Letter of John, and the author of "Book of Revelation" is the opinion of the Church tradition since long.  gkj-GKJ
