1816 Father Joseph Mohr wrote the
lyrics to the song "Silent Night" (originally "Stille Nacht")
when served in a pilgrim church in a village Mariapfarr, Lungau in the Alps,
Austria. A few days before Christmas in 1818, Joseph Mohr as curate at the
church of St. Nicholas, Obendorf, Salzburg, Austria, confused because the
