In churches throughout the United States, Gospel Choir has spread Joy and inspiration for hundreds of years. Sunday Everyone clapped and danced to the sound of gospel lyrics, but why? What is it about the gospel song lyrics that move people to the level of such ecstasy? What words? Are surrounding? And where it all came from?Although church and worship more than 2000 years old, we can only track the gospel music of the 18th century. Gospel Song Lyrics are very repetitive. Many believe this comes from the era when black slaves could not read, this allows them also take part in worship. Worship services also play a major role in strengthening the indoctrination of slavery, such as sermons often taken from St. Paul who spoke about: a good servant, a loving, obedient and trusting teachers. White master hymn became the backdrop for the music of the African enslaved which they then use in worship meetings.
Early
The man who many consider to be the father of Gospel Music, Thomas A. Dorsey (1899-1993) is worthy son of a Baptist minister, and play with the most famous blues singers of all time-specific, Bessie Smith (1894- 1937) and Ma Rainey ( 1886-1939). Ironically love fist is Blues and Ragtime. After two nevervous damage in 1928, he decided to take a break from the music business and it was there that he began to change direction to formulate a religion. 1932 Dorsey held one of boxing Gospel Choirs in Chicago at Pilgrim Baptist Church. It was here that Dorsey began to write religious music, although he left the bright or flashy style lyrics, rhythmic style of jazz and love the taste of blue stay. But not everyone is happy with the new style of gospel music, some conservative old guard labeled the devil music and shunned it. But, he remained true to the music and live long enough to write more than 800 songs and hear his music rose from the first row bench choir stand, where previously been banned. To ensure this, Dorsey founded The National Convention of Gospel choir and in 1932, an organization still exists today.
A 1994 Score magazine article entitled The Father of Gospel Music quoted Dorsey said, when I realized how hard some people fought the idea of the gospel, I was determined to carry the banner.

After Gospel music is defined as a religion, but the Gospel has moved into the mainstream and have a mark on all kinds of music and popular culture. Most Famous Gospel Choir
Perhaps the gospel choir is the most famous Harlem Gospel Choir was founded in 1986 and has spent most of the last 25 years traveling around the country to raise money for children's charities and spread the love of gospel music to millions of people. Allen Baily is the founder and he got the idea while attending a celebration in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. At the Cotton Club in Harlem.The Choir includes some of the best singers and musicians from black churches in Harlem and New York areas. Choir main objective is to create a better understanding of the African-American culture and the inspirational music called Gospel associated with the Black Church. But, of course the music is for everyone. If you see a concert in your area always a good recommendation to attend this celebration of gospel singing and dancing!.
Todays Gospel Music
Gospel Music has branched out in many directions over the years. Now Christian rock is a new era of music and singers listed weekly on the gospel charts bill boards. There is (Gospel Music Association) that GMA has become a multi million dollar business, too. But no mater how the sound changes over the years, the roots will always be from the heart and soul of the black American slaves are starting to sound beautiful.
